History

HistoryBone and Joint Hospital at St. Anthony began with the dream of a young physician returning home to Oklahoma City from serving in World War I and first opened its doors in 1926. During the past 80 years the hospital has gained a strong reputation in the city, state and country for exceptional orthopedic care.

In 1995, Bone and Joint Hospital at St. Anthony joined SSM Health, which is founded on the beliefs of five religious sisters who journeyed to St. Louis in 1872 from Germany to be of service to people in need. As the sisters’ outreach grew, so did their reputation. Today SSM Health operates hospitals in four states.
