Oklahoma City – Bone and Joint Hospital at St. Anthony has named Deb Baker as its Customer Service Champion of the Year for 2010. Baker has worked at Bone and Joint Hospital for four years as a nurse in the surgery department. Helping people is the most rewarding part of her job, she said.

“God has blessed me with the desire to help others – yes, I am a people pleaser,” Baker said. “I prefer the term ‘servant’s heart.’”

With the understanding that all hospital positions in some way support customer service, the Customer Service Champion program at Bone and Joint Hospital recognizes employees who excel in demonstrating exceptional service in their daily job performance.

Each month, employees are nominated by patients or co-workers for going above and beyond what is expected of them as caregivers. The nominations are reviewed by the Administrative Council, and one winner is selected each month as the Customer Service Champion.

At the end of the year, the monthly award recipients are voted on by hospital employees. The winner is announced as the Customer Service Champion of the Year at Bone and Joint Hospital’s annual employee awards banquet.
